Dr King Visits the UK
Susanne and Peter Williams (the UK educators and distributors) arranged a full programme for Dr King’s visit in June, taking in a show and a visit to Windsor Castle along with the working events.
One of the major events of Dr King’s tour was the “Danné Day at the Races”. Susanne and Peter invited 50 of the top UK clinics to join them at Ladies’ Day at Royal Ascot with Dr King as the guest of honour. This is one of the largest events in the Berkshire and London social calendar. Everybody enjoyed the day and some even ended the day with money in their pocket.
Following the races the guests were transported to the famous Berystede hotel where the Danné prize-giving and Champagne dinner was held. This event was also hosted by DMK-UK. Danné gave an enjoyable talk to the group describing the development of the new DMK Cosmetics range. There was very positive feedback and as a consequence a couple of Doctors are keen to use it into their hospitals for burns patients and as a cover following surgery.
The highlight of the evening for the Clinics was the prize giving. This year we had a number of new clinics being awarded the trophies. Of course the winners were delighted with many tears of happiness. The trophy winners were as follows:
• Best Practitioner – North East - Kate Williams
• Best Practitioner – North West - Vicky Kennedy
• Best Practitioner – South - Amanda Day
• Best Practitioner – Scotland - Melanie McEwan
• Best Newcomer – Scotland - Shirley Tracey
• Best Newcomer – South - Rasa Gudaitiene
After a very full and exciting day Dr King headed for a good night’s sleep ready for the next day’s event at the Royal Society of Medicine.
Susanne & Peter invited the exceptional Danné practitioners to Dr King’s lecture at the historic Royal Society of Medicine. Dr King was on top form and gave a brilliant lecture on Advanced Skin Revision, which was followed by luncheon and lots of discussion.
Susanne Williams had a request from one of her patients who had suffered severe burns from over-aggressive treatment with a Fraxel laser. She had wanted to meet Dr King, which he kindly agreed to in Susanne’s Harley Street clinic. With Danné treatments her skin had been gradually improving over several months. Dr King worked his magic and the client felt so much better just by talking to him.
For Dr King’s final night in London was spent with Peter and Susanne Williams dining in London’s Covent Garden at the famous, oldest restaurant in London, Rules. The restaurant dates back to the 1400’s, and the private dining rooms were used by the then Prince of Wales in the 1920’s to take his consort for a discrete liaison.
It was a very busy week for Dr King and as usual he made a huge impression on the people that he met. Susanne and Peter would like to extend a massive thank you to Dr King and will be inviting him back to the UK in 2011
