Danne Listens to the World Buzz and has the Final Word
DANNE does not make snap judgments or decisions based upon rumour, hype or popular trends. Science has fundamental guidelines all scientists go by; everything is chemistry – whether it be biochemistry, medical (drug) chemistry or cosmetic chemistry. Every category is strictly governed by the FDA, the EU and INCI rules. In addition, there are religious rules imposed by governments such as Israel and The Middle East AND special rules imposed by economically expanding countries like China, India and Russia who put up a great many barriers against goods exported from the West in a political effort to encourage western manufacturers to set up their manufacturing in those countries to help improve employment of the local citizens. All of these 'barriers' of course come under 'health concerns'.
This is the reality. Added into that mix is the insurance companies with THEIR demands for totally safe products and the premiums and cost of insurance has risen to unbelievable heights.
So it does not behove ANY American manufacturer to use ANY ingredients that are not totally safe backed up by consistent testing and research-all cutting edge and proven.
The Greenies are those groups of self-styled "naturalists" and alarmists that claim nearly everything except totally "natural" ingredients either cause cancer or are toxic. Danné has written a great many articles on this-including one several years ago under an article called 'The Ingredients Inquisition', comparing these people with the witch hunts of the 17th century. He survived the 1960's when the very same thing that is happening now was then even more rampant-with people like Aubrey Hampton writing books on how nearly every known cosmetic ingredient was toxic and that in the hippy nature people were producing goods that rotted on the shelf or turned rancid-opening the door for billions of micro bacterial potentials and ultimate health risks. Danné stated then "I could formulate food grade products to suit this trend, but they would have to be kept in the fridge and could not be shipped around the world with any guarantee of health safety against mould, fungus, bacterial or even viral attack!"
Having survived this radical Era once, Danné has, for the past few years, laughed off the "concerns" from therapists who have bought into these alarming "reports" and half baked, unsubstantiated theories. He never blamed the therapists-who seldom have access to real research information or were not given real education on biochemistry. After all, the very alarmists who start these rumours (now all over the internet) always seem to have a range of products that THEY are selling as an answer to their claims and theories. The products however, seldom have a different label than any other product on the market SIMPLY BECAUSE BY LAW, ALL PRODUCTS MUST HAVE PRESERVATIVES AND A SHELF LIFE OF AT LEAST TWO YEARS. Also, no manufacture, no matter how "green" their hype is, can use ingredients that are "special" or "secret" and are not listed in the CTFA library the massive reference books that all manufacturer's must go by. ANY ingredient is known and obtainable by anyone in manufacturing-it is the nature of the raw material source of ingredients, how they are prepared in formula, the delivery system to the skin and the CONCEPT of the range that makes the difference in whether a product range is effective or not.
We are not here to discuss the multitude of mysteries and controversy that face each formulator in the business today-we are here make an announcement to explain the changes in many DMK and DANNE products you will be noticing in the next few months. Danné is making it perfectly clear that he did not evoke these changes because he is agreeing with all the naysayers regarding "toxic parabens" or "cancer causing chemicals-for there never has been such ingredients in any DANNE or DMK products. If there were the slightest chance that a preservative or other ingredient MAY be up for questioning, he would have made changes years ago.
The fact is: any change, even the smallest change, would be a massive undertaking of reformulation, testing, label print changes and risk of performance loss to the product. All of which would have to be sharply reflected in the cost of DMK to DANNE goods-something that DANNE Montague-King International does not like to do unless absolutely necessary. Danné, in fact, has agonized over this re-emergence of the "greenies" and held off for as long as possible until ingredient alternatives were made available that were not only SAFE, but would not interfere with the incredible results DMK products have given to hundreds of thousands of grateful clients over the years.
Current technology HAS provided some alternatives that in many cases IMPROVE product performance as well as keeping the products free from microbacteria as well as ingredients have been doing for nearly 40 years!
